The Pussycat Dolls have confirmed a reunion as a trio, with Nicole Scherzinger, Ashley Roberts and Kimberly Wyatt returning with a new single and a global tour.
The group have released a track titled ‘Club Song’ and will launch the 53-date PCD Forever tour in North America in June before heading to Europe in September. The European leg includes nine shows across the UK and Ireland, with stops in Birmingham, Nottingham, Leeds, Liverpool, Dublin, Glasgow, Newcastle and Manchester, before concluding at London’s O2 Arena on October 13.
The reunion comes six years after a planned comeback in 2019 was abandoned due to the Covid pandemic and a legal dispute between Scherzinger and the group’s founder Robin Antin. The dispute was settled confidentially last year.
Speaking to BBC News, Wyatt said returning to the group after two decades felt special. “It’s an incredible thing to be able to do after 20 years,” she said, noting that the group has often had a changing line-up.
The current reunion does not include former members Jessica Sutta, Carmit Bachar or Melody Thornton.
Roberts revealed that Scherzinger first approached the others about reuniting, with the trio keen to celebrate where they are in their lives today. Scherzinger added that the timing now felt right.
The singer recently won an Olivier Award and a Tony Award for her acclaimed performance as Norma Desmond in Jamie Lloyd’s stage adaptation of Sunset Boulevard in the West End and on Broadway.
The Pussycat Dolls rose to global fame with their 2005 debut album ‘PCD’, producing hits such as ‘Don’t Cha’, ‘Buttons’ and ‘Stickwitu’. They later released ‘Doll Domination’ before disbanding in 2010.
Alongside the tour and new single, both albums will be reissued with previously unreleased tracks. Scherzinger said the group are continuing to record music and did not rule out the possibility of a new album in the future.
