A tense scene gripped the area around the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur on Thursday. People gathered on the surrounding roads as the situation grew more intense.
Police officers watched the crowd closely and stayed near the main entrances to control movement.
Members of the armed forces remained inside the stadium premises. They took position early and monitored the rising noise outside.
The crowd shouted slogans against directors of the Bangladesh Cricket Board. The chants grew louder as one BCB director arrived at the office, according to media reports.
