Global technology brand TECNO has unveiled a concept smartphone featuring what it describes as a ‘true 0mm display bezel’, offering a glimpse into the future of borderless device design.
Smartphone manufacturers have spent years reducing screen borders to provide larger displays without increasing device size. TECNO’s concept removes the visible black border around the display, allowing the screen to extend almost seamlessly to the edges, said a press release on Sunday.
Achieving the 0mm bezel required advanced component stacking, structural engineering and new screen-packaging techniques to create space for the edge-to-edge display while maintaining the device’s overall form, the company said.
The design aims to make activities such as watching videos, gaming and reading content more immersive. Rather than relying on curved screen edges to create the illusion of thinner bezels, the concept focuses on reducing the physical border itself.
International technology media have reported on the concept, with Digital Trends highlighting its bezel-free appearance and GSMArena noting TECNO’s claim of achieving true 0mm display bezels.
TECNO is expected to showcase the concept phone at IFA 2026 in Berlin this September. As a concept device, it represents the company’s vision for future smartphone development rather than a commercially available model, the press release said.
