Team Jinxed from Bangladesh University of Professionals has won the fourth season of Marico Bangladesh’s flagship campus-based product innovation competition Over The Wall, the company said in a statement issued on Wednesday.
Themed ‘Innovate with Impact’, this year’s edition focused on developing practical, innovation-driven solutions for the personal care industry.
Marico Bangladesh said the competition drew the highest-ever participation, with more than 6,000 students registering from over 45 campuses across the country.
After multiple rounds of submissions, development sessions and mentorship, six teams reached the grand finale in Dhaka and presented ideas combining technology, sustainability and business strategy.
Team Oops We Tried from Islamic University of Technology finished as first runner-up, while Team The Lannisters from the University of Dhaka became second runner-up. All three teams received prize money from Marico Bangladesh.
The champion team will also get an international internship placement at one of Marico’s global offices, continuing the tradition of last year’s winners who interned at Marico Malaysia.
The other two winning teams will be offered internships at Marico Bangladesh, and all three teams will represent Bangladesh at the Global Grand Finale in December.
The final presentations were judged by a panel comprising Marico Bangladesh Managing Director Sumitava Basu, Keymakers Consulting Ltd Managing Director Khandker Swanan Shahriar and Singer Bangladesh Managing Director MHM Fairoz.
Marico Bangladesh Managing Director Sumitava Basu said, “Over The Wall, a platform for young innovators to dream boldly and execute responsibly, is more than a competition.”
The participants showed strong creativity and purpose and that Marico was proud to support their journey, he added.
Reflecting on the initiative, the company’s HR Director K M Sabbir Ahmed said the competition encourages entrepreneurial ambition among young people and helps shape future leaders.
He said the theme ‘Innovate with Impact’ captured the mission of connecting innovation with responsibility.
Marico Bangladesh said the completion of Season 4 reaffirms its commitment to nurturing young talent and promoting an entrepreneurial culture that can support long-term growth and transformation in the country.
