BNP acting chairman Tarique Rahman has conveyed his family’s and the party’s gratitude for the support extended towards the recovery of BNP chairperson and former prime minister Khaleda Zia.
In a social media post, Tarique said, “I want to take a moment to give our most profound thanks for the remarkable outpouring of support for Begum Khaleda Zia’s recovery.
“The widespread expressions of concern from leaders, diplomats, and friends across the world, as well as the overwhelming love and prayers from the people of Bangladesh have been incredible,” he added.
Tarique also said the collective support has been a source of immense strength. He said, “We continue to pray for her recovery and appreciate the unity, compassion, and solidarity shown during this difficult moment.”
Khaleda Zia remains in a critical state at Dhaka’s Evercare Hospital. Her condition, described by party insiders and physicians as “very deep” and “extremely fragile” has drawn unprecedented international medical attention — including the arrival of a high-level team of specialist doctors from China on Monday.
