A Dhaka court has issued a summons against actor Tanjin Tisha in a fraud and breach of trust case filed over an alleged dispute involving a sari. The court has ordered her to appear on 13 August for the next hearing.
The order was passed on Sunday by Magistrate Md Jewel Rana of Court No. 10 at the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court in Dhaka. The development was confirmed by the complainant’s lawyer, Advocate Salimullah Sarkar.
According to the case statement, Tisha received a sari worth around Tk28,800 from the online fashion page Apponia after promising to promote the product and pay its value. The complaint alleges that she later cut off communication, leading to accusations of fraud and breach of trust.
Tisha had earlier denied the allegations on social media, claiming the sari had been given to her as a gift.
The complainant said a legal notice had been served, but no response was received. As a result, the case was filed in court in November 2025. Following the court’s directive, the Detective Branch (DB) police investigated the matter and submitted a report. Based on that report, the court issued the summons against Tisha.
Advocate Salimullah Sarkar said the investigation found preliminary evidence supporting the allegations. He added that the matter would now be settled through the court.
Attempts to contact Tanzin Tisha for her comments were unsuccessful.
Tisha is currently awaiting her big-screen debut opposite Shakib Khan in the film Soldier, which has yet to be released. The court case has once again brought the actor into the spotlight.
