Noakhali Express coach Khaled Mahmud Sujon has expressed his continued faith in Jaker Ali despite the batter struggling in recent months and missing out on a spot in the T20 World Cup squad. Sujon believes a return to form is possible with the right support.
“I still believe Jaker is a very talented and important player for my team,” Sujon told reporters. “Although his batting has dipped a little, batting at five or six is a tough position. You have to stay at the crease when wickets fall and then accelerate towards the end.”
Sujon acknowledged that excuses have no place in professional cricket. “As a professional, you cannot give excuses. You have to play according to the conditions,” he said.
Focusing on Jaker’s mental approach, Sujon added, “He is a bit out of form. We are trying, I am trying really, to support him mentally because there is not much time to change technique. What we can do now is help him regain confidence so he can play a good innings.”
The coach is confident that one strong performance could restore Jaker’s rhythm. “I believe just one innings can make a difference. A good innings will put him back on track. Although he has not had long innings recently, I still believe he is a crucial player for my team,” Sujon said.
