A sudden tornado-like formation appeared over Kaizla Beel in Masihata Union under Sadar upazila of Brahmanbaria on Friday, causing panic among locals who witnessed the swirling wind stretching from the water surface towards the sky.
No casualties or damage were reported.
Eyewitnesses said the sky had turned overcast in the afternoon when the tornado formed abruptly over the waterbody. Several locals recorded the scene on their mobile phones.
Bijoynagar Upazila Nirbahi Officer Sadhana Tripura said officials were sent to inspect after the incident was reported.
