Speculation surrounding the relationship between Tollywood filmmaker Srijit Mukherji and Bangladeshi actress Rafiath Rashid Mithila has resurfaced after the director spoke about the absence of a stable partner in his life.
Srijit recently appeared as a guest on the popular West Bengal talk show Straight Up With Shree, where he discussed his past relationships, friendships with former girlfriends and various aspects of his personal life.
During the interview, Srijit said that at this stage of his life, he feels the absence of a “stable partnership”. Although he did not mention Mithila by name, the comment has sparked renewed discussion about the couple’s marriage.
Srijit and Mithila have been married for nearly six years. However, they have rarely been seen maintaining a settled family life together since their wedding.
Rumours of a possible separation have also surfaced several times in recent years, though neither has publicly confirmed a divorce.
Speaking about his past relationships, Srijit said, “Life is a journey. Some people get off the train after a few stations. Susmita has also got off, perhaps to catch another train.”
His remarks have added fuel to questions about the current state of his relationship with Mithila.
However, it remains unclear whether his comments were intended as a reference to their marriage or were simply a reflection on his past relationships.
Neither Srijit nor Mithila has made any direct statement about their present relationship status. As a result, speculation continues over whether the filmmaker’s comments suggest a separation or merely express his personal feelings.
