Special prayers were offered across the country seeking the recovery of BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia. She is undergoing treatment in the CCU of Evercare Hospital in Dhaka.
Following Jumu’ah prayers on Friday, these prayers were organised by the party at mosques.
Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and party leaders joined a prayer gathering held at a mosque in Naya Paltan.
At that time, Fakhrul said, “Khaleda Zia has devoted her life to democracy. Her illness began from prison. She became critically ill due to lack of proper treatment.”
He further stated, “Once the air ambulance sent by Qatar arrives tomorrow, Begum Zia will be taken to London on Sunday. However, whether she will be able to fly will be decided by the doctors.”
BNP leaders and activists at all levels, along with members of its associated and affiliated organisations as well as the general public, took part in the prayers.
At the same time, requests were made to offer prayers for the Khaleda Zia’s recovery at temples, churches, pagodas, and other places of worship.
