Southeast University marked Independence Day 2026 with a discussion session and cultural programme at its campus Multipurpose Hall, focusing on the legacy of the Liberation War and youth engagement in nation-building.

The programme was held on Wednesday, according to a press release.

Southeast University Vice Chancellor Professor Yusuf Mahbubul Islam presided over the event, while Southeast University Registrar Major General rtd Md Anwarul Islam delivered the keynote address.

Southeast University Pro-Vice Chancellor Professor M Mofazzal Hossain delivered special remarks, and Implementation Committee Convener and School of Engineering Dean Professor Dewan Md Farid gave the welcome address.

Speakers highlighted the spirit of the Liberation War and underscored the importance of Independence Day, stressing the role of the younger generation in shaping the country’s future.

The event was attended by deans, heads of departments, faculty members, administrative officers, staff and students of the university.
