South Korean Ambassador Ji-joon Kim has expressed his country’s specific interest in investing in Bangladesh’s electronics manufacturing and technology sectors, while also eyeing expanded cooperation in renewable energy, ICT, and the manufacturing industry.
The ambassador shared these interests during a courtesy call on Prime Minister’s Foreign Affairs Adviser Humayun Kabir, at Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) in Tejgaon on Wednesday.
During the meeting, both parties discussed further expanding the existing friendly relations and cooperation between the two nations. Emphasis was placed on strengthening ties in trade, investment, technology, industrialisation, infrastructure, human resource development, and skill enhancement.
Ambassador Kim lauded Bangladesh’s rapid economic progress and its investment-friendly environment. In response, Adviser Humayun commended the growing economic and development partnership between the two countries.
He stressed the importance of increasing trade and investment, technology transfer, and industrial cooperation. Welcoming further South Korean investment, the adviser assured the envoy of all necessary government support.
The meeting, held in a cordial atmosphere, concluded with both sides reaffirming their commitment to close cooperation on matters of mutual interest to take Bangladesh-South Korea relations to new heights.
