Sonali Bank PLC has launched a nationwide awareness campaign to promote Bangla QR and expand digital payment services under the slogan ‘One Country, One QR: Transactions through Bangla QR’.
Managing Director Md Shawkat Ali Khan joined a promotional drive in the capital’s Motijheel and Dilkusha areas on Monday, alongside the bank’s deputy managing directors and other senior executives, Sonali Bank said in a press release.
Introduced by Bangladesh Bank, Bangla QR is a unified QR code-based payment system designed to make digital transactions simpler, safer and interoperable while supporting the country’s move towards a cashless society.
The platform allows customers of banks and mobile financial service providers to make payments by scanning a single QR code, regardless of the financial service provider they use.
