SBAC Bank PLC has appointed SM Mainul Kabir as managing director and chief executive officer, with effect from Wednesday.
Before joining SBAC Bank, Kabir served as deputy managing director of United Commercial Bank PLC.
He brings more than three decades of experience in the banking sector, having held a range of senior leadership roles during his career.
These include head of credit, chief business officer, head of credit administration and head of branch, with responsibilities spanning multiple areas of banking operations.
Kabir began his professional career as a probationary officer at National Bank PLC. He later worked at EXIM Bank PLC, Jamuna Bank PLC, Southeast Bank PLC and Community Bank PLC, building a reputation for professionalism, integrity and effective leadership.
He has also participated in various professional and management development programmes, workshops and seminars at home and abroad.
Academically, Kabir completed his honours and master’s degrees in finance and banking from the University of Dhaka and later earned an MBA from the Department of Management Studies at the same university.
