Jannik Sinner continued his dominant run, defeating German star Alexander Zverev in straight sets to reach the Miami Open final for the fourth time. With this win, Sinner extended his unbeaten streak against Zverev to seven consecutive matches.
Sinner overcame Zverev 6-3, 7-6 (7-4) in a high-intensity semifinal. The victory marked his 16th consecutive win at a Masters 1000 event and continued an incredible streak of 32 consecutive set victories. Speaking after the match, Sinner said, “Reaching the final again is a huge achievement for me. Zverev played brilliantly, but I managed to serve well in the crucial moments.”
Having won the Indian Wells title earlier this month, Sinner now has the opportunity to become only the second male player after Roger Federer (2017) to win both Indian Wells and Miami Open in the same year.
In Sunday’s final, Sinner will face 21st seed Jiri Lehecka, who reached his first Masters 1000 final after defeating France’s Arthur Fils 6-2, 6-2 in the other semifinal.
