Shironamhin is stepping into a wider musical landscape today as the celebrated Bangladeshi band unveils ‘Ei Obelay 2’ in two languages.
Best known for their atmospheric sound and poetic lyricism, the band is closing their new album, ‘Batighor’, with the sequel to their 2019 hit ‘Ei Obelay’. While sequels in music are rare, Shironamhin has gone a step further by releasing the track in both Bangla and English, the latter titled ‘Remember Me’.
The decision to expand the song’s linguistic reach, band leader and bassist Ziaur Rahman said, was influenced as much by fan demand as by the band’s evolving creative outlook. “The response to the first song was overwhelming,” he noted. “Listeners kept requesting a sequel and as we planned Batighor, we realised the story of Ei Obelay resonated beyond language. That’s when the idea of telling it in two tongues emerged.”
Ziaur Rahman, who wrote both the original and the sequel, continues to drive the band’s lyrical identity. Drummer Kazi Ahmed Shafin directed the music video, while Resh Rahman crafted the English translation, ensuring the emotional intent survived the shift in language.
The video takes the band’s storytelling abroad, filmed across the scenic Thai islands of Ko Kham, Ko Mak and Ko Chang. Television presenter Neel Hurerzahan appears in the visuals, with production support from The Premium Homes Limited.
Both versions are available on the band’s official YouTube channel simultaneously from today (December 4).
