Shahjalal Islami Bank PLC held the 90th meeting of its Shari’ah Supervisory Committee to review issues related to Shari’ah compliance across the bank’s overall Islamic banking operations.
The bank said in a press release that the meeting took place on Wednesday at the board meeting room of its corporate head office.
Shahjalal Islami Bank Shari’ah Supervisory Committee Chairman Mufti Shamsuddin Zia presided over the meeting.
The meeting discussed various matters concerning Shari’ah compliance in the bank’s Islamic banking activities, the release said.
Shahjalal Islami Bank Shari’ah Supervisory Committee Members Mufti Mohammad Mizanur Rahman and Mufti Abdullah Masum attended the meeting.
Also present were Shahjalal Islami Bank Managing Director Mosleh Uddin Ahmed, Company Secretary Md Abul Bashar and Head of Shari’ah Secretariat Maulana Md Farid Uddin.
The formal proceedings began with recitation from the Holy Qur’an and concluded with Do’a and Munajat, seeking continued prosperity of the bank, the release said.
