Shahjalal Islami Bank PLC has provided Tk15 lakh sponsorship to the Hajj Agencies Association of Bangladesh (HAAB) for organising the “Hajj and Umrah Fair-2026”, the bank said in a press release.
The sponsorship cheque was handed over on 21 July 2026 at a function held at the Corporate Head Office of Shahjalal Islami Bank PLC by Managing Director Mosleh Uddin Ahmed to HAAB President Syed Golam Sarwer.
HAAB Secretary General Farid Ahmed Mazumder, Shahjalal Islami Bank Additional Managing Director Md Abdullah Al-Mamun, Deputy Managing Directors M M Saiful Islam and Md Jafar Sadeq, FCA, SEVP and Company Secretary Md Abul Bashar and Chief Executive Officer of Shahjalal Islami Bank Foundation and In-charge of the Public Relations Department K M Harunur Rashid were present at the cheque handover ceremony.
The three-day “Hajj and Umrah Fair-2026” will be held from 30 July to 1 August 2026 at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Center (BCFCC), Sher-e-Bangla Nagar, Agargaon, Dhaka.
The fair will bring together people intending to perform Hajj and Umrah, Hajj agencies, visitors and their relatives, according to the bank.
