Chief Organizer (Northern Region) of the National Citizen Party (NCP) Sarjis Alam stated that he wants to see the final character of the advisers and said that several advisers are thinking about how to make a safe and honorable exit through the election.
“They should not think this way,” he said. “Slipping away quietly and irresponsibly through the election is not honorable.”
He made these remarks in response to questions from journalists at the Rajshahi Chamber of Commerce building auditorium on Monday afternoon at 5:30pm.
Sarjis Alam said, “I assume that the chief adviser will not engage in politics by joining any other political party. Because the people of the country trusted him, not the Advisory Council.”
He also said that problems are arising in areas such as justice, maintenance of law and order, and foreign relations due to the advisers.
Sarjis Alam said that if the legal basis of the July Charter and the verdicts for those involved in the mass uprising (significant high-level individuals) are delivered by February, then the NCP has no objection to holding the election within the declared timeframe.
He said, “There is no opportunity for the Awami League to do politics in Bangladesh in any form. It must be banned as a political party, and its symbol and registration must be cancelled. If this is not done, the students and the public will take to the streets as before.”
Earlier, he attended as the chief guest at a coordination meeting of the district and metropolitan committees of the National Citizen Party held in Rajshahi. The meeting started at 4:30pm, where he first discussed various internal party matters with district leaders.
Afterwards, he delivered a speech outlining party activities, future politics, crises, possibilities, and guidance. At 5:30pm, he held a coordination meeting with leaders of the metropolitan committee.
Present at the meeting were NCP Rajshahi Divisional Organizing Secretary Imran Emon and Metropolitan Chief Coordinator Mobaswer Ali.
