The Society for Development Initiatives (SDI) on Thursday organised a symposium aimed at promoting financial security and business growth among grassroots entrepreneurs.
Titled “Entrepreneurship and Savings: A Path to Growing Income and Securing the Future,” the event was held at SDI’s Integrated Resource Center in Dhamrai, bringing together entrepreneurs and savings group members from Dhamrai, Manikganj, and Savar.
The workshop focused on linking entrepreneurship with regular savings to ensure long-term financial stability. Participants shared experiences on business challenges and discussed how consistent savings can support expansion, manage emergencies, and strengthen household security.
SDI Chairman Professor Md Abul Hossain attended as chief guest, while Bangladesh Bank Joint Director Ripa Monalisa and Golra Highway Police Station Officer-in-Charge Dewan Koushik Ahmed were present as special guests. The session was chaired by SDI Founder and Executive Director Shamsul Haque.
Speakers emphasised that savings are essential for managing risks and sustaining business growth. “Entrepreneurs must give due attention to savings to ensure future security,” said Abul Hossain.
Participants also highlighted the role of savings in business success, noting that access to financial support and planning can help expand enterprises and create employment.
SDI officials said such initiatives would continue to support grassroots entrepreneurs in becoming more resilient and self-reliant.
