Standard Chartered Bangladesh (SCB) has launched a FIFA World Cup 2026 spend campaign in partnership with Visa, aiming to offer global rewards and experiences to its cardholders, the bank said.
The campaign allows debit and credit card users to turn everyday spending into access to international rewards, including a FIFA World Cup 2026 quarter-final match experience for two, official FIFA merchandise and curated lifestyle benefits.
Visa is an official partner of FIFA, and the collaboration enables the bank to connect clients to the global sporting event through its card platform.
Standard Chartered Bangladesh CEO and Head of Coverage Naser Ezaz Bijoy said the initiative reflects the bank’s strategy to link Bangladesh with global platforms.
“We continue to build a franchise that connects Bangladesh to the world’s most prestigious platforms. Our collaboration with Visa around the FIFA World Cup 2026 underscores our commitment to leveraging our global network platform partner to create the best experiences for our clients,” he said.
Bangladesh national football team captain Jamal Bhuyan said the campaign could help bring fans closer to the global stage of football.
“I see firsthand how the sport of football inspires passion and brings people together. It is exciting to see Standard Chartered Bangladesh and Visa creating opportunities for Bangladeshi fans to get closer to the FIFA World Cup 2026 through their everyday spending. I hope this campaign encourages even more young people in Bangladesh to dream big and stay connected to the global game,” he said.
Visa Country Manager for Bangladesh, Nepal and Bhutan Sabbir Ahmed said the partnership would convert routine transactions into unique experiences.
“Visa is proud to partner with Standard Chartered Bangladesh to help turn everyday card spending into access to once-in-a-lifetime FIFA World Cup 2026 experiences. As an Official Partner of FIFA, we remain committed to bringing the excitement of the world’s biggest sporting event closer to fans in Bangladesh while continuing to enable fast, secure and seamless payments for our cardholders across the region,” he said.
Standard Chartered Bangladesh Head of Wealth and Retail Banking Lutful Habib said the bank is focusing on making daily banking more rewarding for retail clients.
“At Standard Chartered, we are focused on making everyday banking more rewarding for our retail clients in Bangladesh. Through this campaign, we are turning regular card payments into access to global football experiences, giving our clients more value, excitement, and reasons to choose Standard Chartered for their daily spending,” he said.
Standard Chartered said it has been operating in Bangladesh for more than 120 years and has supported various sporting initiatives, including sponsorship of Liverpool Football Club and the Young Tigers School Cricket Competition across the country.
