South Indian star Samantha Ruth Prabhu has entered a new chapter in her personal life, marrying filmmaker Raj Nidimoru in a low-key ceremony that immediately set social media abuzz on Monday. Samantha wore a red sari for the occasion, a choice that aligned with the customary temple setting and its associated rituals. Sources suggest the event was kept deliberately understated, reflecting the duo’s desire to formalise their relationship away from excessive media glare.
Rumours about the impending wedding intensified on Sunday night after Raj’s former wife, Shhyamali De, posted a cryptic Instagram story reading, “Desperate people do desperate things.” Social media users quickly linked the remark to Samantha and Raj’s reported marriage, fuelling further speculation.
Talk of Samantha and Raj’s relationship had circulated since early 2024. The two were spotted together several times in recent months, and Samantha had shared moments featuring Raj across her social media platforms, adding to the public’s curiosity.
The actor was previously married to fellow South Indian star Naga Chaitanya. The two tied the knot in Goa in 2017 before formally announcing their separation in 2021.
Last year, Naga Chaitanya married Indian supermodel, former Miss Earth India winner and movie actress Sobhita Dhulipala, a development that reportedly left Samantha struggling emotionally for a prolonged period.
