Dhaka Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Joshita Islam passed the bail order following a hearing on Thursday, allowing him bail upon a bond of Tk1,000.
Defence lawyer Mohaddesul Amin confirmed the development.
The case was filed on 9 January by Ujjal Mondal, representing Export Import Bank of Bangladesh (EXIM Bank), against 10 individuals and five companies over the alleged cheque dishonour.

The bank deposited the cheque at its Head Office Corporate Branch on 19 November, 2025, but it was returned the same day with a remark citing “insufficient funds”.
Later, the bank sent a legal notice through registered mail on 26 November under Sections 138 and 140 of the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881, asking the accused to settle the cheque amount within 30 days.
The case was filed after the accused allegedly failed to make the payment within the stipulated period.
