Chief Whip Nurul Islam Moni has said the true spirit of sacrifice lies in overcoming the “animalism” within the human mind.
He made the remarks after offering Eid-ul-Adha prayers alongside his constituents at the Nachnapara Monipur Jame Mosque in Patharghata upazila of Barguna on Thursday.
The Eid congregation began at 7:30am. After the prayers, he exchanged Eid greetings and pleasantries with worshippers.
In his address, the Chief Whip urged people to embrace the spirit of sacrifice, stand beside the public and work towards building a better Bangladesh.
He said people should be inspired by the message of Eid-ul-Adha and move forward with renewed commitment to national development.
Following the prayers, a special munajat was offered seeking peace, prosperity and welfare for the Muslim Ummah and people across the world.
Local public representatives, political leaders and people from all walks of life attended the Eid congregation.
