A teacher at Rangamati Science and Technology University (RMSTU) has been dismissed from his position following allegations of forging signatures and providing fake experience certificates to secure his job.
The decision was taken against Juel Sikder, an associate professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE).
According to sources at RMSTU, Juel forged the signatures of the registrar and the head of the CSE department at Southern University Bangladesh. By using fake letterheads and concealing vital information, he had been accessing various facilities and benefits at RMSTU.
Following the discovery of these irregularities, the university administration ordered him to refund all financial benefits received since the beginning of his tenure, RMSTU Vice‑Chancellor Atiar Rahman confirmed.
VC Atiar said the university had formed three separate investigation committees to verify the allegations, and the probe reports confirmed the authenticity of the charges brought against the accused associate professor.
