Senior Joint-Secretary General of BNP, Ruhul Kabir Rizvi Ahmed, and State Minister for Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs and the Ministry of Land, Mir Mohammad Helal Uddin, have visited various areas of Chittagong severely affected by sudden, devastating floods to distribute emergency relief.
During the visit, the leaders inspected Tailardwip bazar area in Anwara Upazila, Ilisha in Banshkhali Upazila, and Pathaner pul area in Satkania Upazila.
From Pathaner Pul, the delegation travelled by boat to the severely submerged Keuchia area with the active cooperation of Bangladesh Army to observe the conditions of waterlogged residents firsthand and enquire about their hardships.
Emergency food supplies and essential life-sustaining items were distributed among 1,500 extremely affected and helpless families across these regions. The relief operation was conducted in an orderly manner with the assistance of local administration.

Addressing the affected public, Helal Uddin said the current government, led by Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, is working with utmost sincerity and tireless effort to alleviate the sufferings of flood-affected people. He assured the residents that the government remains steadfastly by their side.
He further promised that as soon as the floodwaters recede, all necessary and effective measures for rehabilitation will be implemented to help the affected people return to normal life.

He issued firm directives to field-level government officials to ensure the distribution of relief is balanced, swift, and free from any form of discrimination. Additionally, he provided specific administrative instructions to ensure the proper completion of house reconstruction and rehabilitation activities for the victims.
The humanitarian relief programme was supported by senior officials of the local administration, distinguished public representatives, and political leaders from various levels.
