Rishad Hossain has made his Big Bash League debut for the Hobart Hurricanes. The Bangladesh leg-spinner featured in the third match of the league’s 15th season at Ninja Stadium in Hobart. Hobart Hurricanes won the toss and chose to field.

Rishad received his Hurricanes cap from Australian leg-spinner Nikhil Chaudhury. The moment marked another important step in his growing T20 career across global franchise leagues.

Before arriving in the Big Bash, Rishad had already played in the Bangladesh Premier League, Global Super League and Pakistan Super League. With this appearance, he has now featured in four major T20 franchise competitions. The Bangladeshi leggie has built a reputation for his attacking bowling and useful contributions with the bat.

The Hurricanes also handed a debut to England leg-spinner Rehan Ahmed in the same match. Rehan received his cap from his countryman Chris Jordan, making his first appearance for the Hobart-based franchise.

With both Rishad and Rehan included, Hobart fielded three leg-spinning allrounders in their playing XI. Alongside them was Nikhil Chaudhury, giving the Hurricanes a rare spin-heavy combination and added depth in both bowling and batting.
