Revised proposal for N’ganj rice silo gets govt nod

The government on Tuesday approved a variation proposal for the construction of the Narayanganj Rice Silo under the Modern Food Storage Facilities Project (4th Revised), which is being implemented by the Directorate General of Food with financial assistance from the World Bank.

The approval was granted during a meeting of the Advisers Council Committee on Government Purchase, held virtually, with Finance Adviser Dr Salehuddin Ahmed presiding over the session.

As per the proposal from the Food Ministry, the variation pertains to Package W-23 of the project. Initially, the contract value stood at Tk 46.53 crore and $3.22 crore. However, following adjustments, the revised contract value has been set at Tk 42.53 crore and $3.24 crore. The revision includes an increase of Tk 4 crore and $1.53 lakh.

The contract for this project has been awarded to Confidence Infrastructure Limited, located at Unique Trade Centre (Level 6 & 7), 8 Panthapath, Kawran Bazar, Dhaka, in collaboration with The GSI Group LLC, based in Illinois, USA.
