Renata PLC has entered the Portuguese pharmaceutical market with its first shipment of therapeutic medicines, marking another step in the company’s strategy to expand its footprint across Europe.
The initial consignment includes Amantadine 100 mg capsules, manufactured at the company’s European Union Good Manufacturing Practice (EU-GMP)-approved Rajendrapur General Facility, alongside Fludrocortisone 0.1 mg tablets and Cabergoline 0.5 mg tablets, produced at its EU-GMP-approved Mirpur Potent Facility.
The company said in a regulatory filing with the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) that the launch in Portugal represents a significant milestone in its ongoing European expansion, where regulatory approvals and compliance with EU-GMP manufacturing standards remain key prerequisites for market entry.
Portugal adds to Renata’s growing overseas presence as the pharmaceutical manufacturer continues to expand exports to regulated markets, a strategy aimed at diversifying revenue beyond Bangladesh.
The disclosure was made through the Dhaka Stock Exchange on Thursday.
Renata shares edged down 0.17 per cent to close at Tk472.40 on the DSE on Thursday.
