Rashmika Mandanna steps into a hard-hitting action role in ‘Mysaa’, with the film’s first teaser showing her in a striking departure from her usual glamorous screen image, writes Hindustan Times.
Released on Sunday evening, the teaser introduces Rashmika as a Gond tribal woman who refuses to surrender despite repeated hardships. “I am tired, I have stopped, I have lost,” her character says before choosing to fight back.
The glimpse features Rashmika wielding a sickle, taking on multiple opponents and riding a motorcycle. One sequence shows her fighting underwater, highlighting the physical demands of the role.
The actor underwent extensive preparation for the action scenes and suffered an injury during filming. Rashmika previously revealed that a tendon detached during one of the sequences.
The teaser has received a positive response from fans, with viewers praising the actor’s transformation and the film’s focus on action rather than glamour. Some also described the project as a promising female-led action film.
Directed by debutant Rawindra Pulle, ‘Mysaa’ also stars Eshwari Rao, Guru Somasundaram, Rao Ramesh, Rahul Ravindran, Samuthirakani, Shiva Kandukuri, Karthik Ranjini, Tarak Ponnappa and Nidhi Singh.
Shreyaas K Krishna has handled cinematography, while Jakes Bejoy composed the music. International action choreographer Andy Long has designed the film’s action sequences.
‘Mysaa’ will hit cinemas on 27 November 2026 in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam.
Rashmika was last seen in the Hindi romantic comedy-drama ‘Cocktail 2’, which released on 19 June and also starred Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon.
