The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) forecast rain in different parts of the country over the next 24 hours from 9am Thursday.
Light to moderate rain or thundershowers with temporary gusty winds are likely in most places of Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka, Mymensingh, Khulna, Barishal and Sylhet divisions, and in many areas of Chattogram division, said a Met office bulletin.
Meanwhile, rain and severe traffic jams have caused extreme suffering for Dhaka residents. Office‑goers faced the worst hardship in the morning.
Alongside gridlock, a shortage of public transport added to their troubles, and many had to pay extra fares to reach workplaces.
Moderately heavy to heavy falls may also occur in some places.
Daytime temperatures may drop slightly, while night temperatures are expected to remain nearly unchanged.
On Wednesday, Sylhet recorded the highest temperature at 35.2°C, while today’s minimum was 22.6°C in Narayanganj. Teknaf saw the highest rainfall in the past 24 hours, with 89mm recorded till 6am.
In Dhaka, the sun will set at 6:45pm today and rise at 5:27am tomorrow.
