Light to moderately heavy rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty winds and lightning flashes are likely across the country over the next 24 hours from 9am on Tuesday, the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) said.

According to a weather bulletin issued by the BMD, most places in Khulna, Barishal, Mymensingh, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions may experience rain or thundershowers, while many places in Rangpur, Rajshahi and Dhaka divisions are also likely to receive rainfall.

The bulletin said moderately heavy to very heavy rainfall may occur at places in Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions.

Day and night temperatures are likely to remain nearly unchanged across the country, it added.

The highest temperature recorded on Monday was 35.0 degrees Celsius in Rangpur and Syedpur, while the lowest temperature recorded on Tuesday was 23.5 degrees Celsius in Bandarban.

In Dhaka, the sun is expected to set at 6:50pm on Tuesday and rise at 5:17am on Wednesday.
