Filmmaker Raihan Rafi has announced a new film titled Eyes, marking his first collaboration with acclaimed filmmaker Abdullah Mohammad Saad and producer Tanveer Hossain.
Rafi shared the announcement on his official Facebook page, revealing that the project is currently in development and has been selected for CoPro-Access Lab 2026. He described the selection as a major milestone for the film.
Explaining the vision behind Eyes, Rafi said he has never believed in drawing a line between arthouse and commercial cinema.
“For a long time, we have lived with a false divide between arthouse cinema and commercial cinema. I have never believed that cinema should be trapped inside these boxes. A film can be emotional, entertaining, thoughtful, urgent, and still reach people deeply. For me, that is always the dream,” he wrote.
Rafi also highlighted the creative strengths of the three collaborators, saying each brings a distinct perspective to the project.
“Saad brings psychological depth, silence, moral pressure, and fragile human truth. Tanveer brings belief, persistence, and the producing vision to make this meeting possible.
I bring my own instinct for pace, scale, emotion, and audience connection. Somewhere between these energies, I believe Eyes can find its own language,” he wrote.
The filmmaker thanked the CoPro-Access Lab team for supporting the project. He also expressed his gratitude to Céline Loop, Mathivanan Rajendran and Pooja Mohite for believing in the film.
Rafi has not yet disclosed details about the story, cast or production schedule. However, the announcement has already sparked interest among cinephiles, as Eyes marks the first collaboration between Rafi and Saad, two filmmakers known for their distinctive cinematic styles.
