Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has arrested three murder case suspects who were mistakenly released from Mymensingh Central Jail without bail.
Members of RAB-14 detained the trio around 11pm on Thursday from Ghatail upazila in Tangail.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Md Anis Mia, Rashedul Islam, and Zakirul Islam, all residents of the Tarati area under Tarakanda Police Station in Mymensingh. They were being held in custody as accused in a murder case.
The incident began when the three suspects were released from the central jail on Tuesday evening without any bail orders. The administrative lapse only came to light on Thursday, prompting widespread criticism and raising serious concerns regarding prison security and the accountability of jail officials.
In response to the oversight, Deputy Jailer Zakaria Imtiaz of Mymensingh Central Jail has been suspended for negligence of duty.
While further specifics regarding the recapture have not yet been disclosed, the media officer for RAB-14 stated that a press conference.
