Pabna University of Science and Technology (PUST) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Ratnadip Resort, Hotel and Amusement, a sister concern of Pabna’s Universal Group.
The agreement was signed on Monday, at 11am at the vice-chancellor’s office.
PUST Registrar Bijon Kumar Brahma and Universal Group Managing Director Sohani Hossain signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organisations.
The partnership aims to promote mutual collaboration in research, innovation, skill development, and sustainable socio-economic development under industry-academia cooperation.
Under this agreement, PUST students will gain opportunities to undertake internships and part-time jobs. Universal Group will assist the university in designing curricula based on industry needs and student employment demands. Representatives from the group will also serve as guest teachers and resource people at the university.
Additionally, both organisations will share laboratories and collaborate in education, research, training, and technical assistance. The agreement will also facilitate student study visits to the company and create job opportunities based on students’ merit and industry demand.
PUST Vice-Chancellor Professor Abul Hasnat Md Shamim, Pro-Vice-Chancellor Professor Md Nazrul Islam, and Treasurer Professor Md Shamim Ahsan were present during the signing ceremony. Senior officials from Universal Group were also in attendance.
