Professor Dr Abul Hasnat Md Shamim, the Treasurer of Bangladesh Open University (BOU), has been appointed as the Vice-Chancellor of Pabna University of Science and Technology (PUST). Following the announcement, the BOU family extended their heartiest congratulations and best wishes to him.
On Thursday afternoon, during a courtesy meeting at BOU, the Vice-Chancellor of Bangladesh Open University, Professor Dr Mohammad Siddiqur Rahman Khan, formally greeted the newly appointed PUST Vice-Chancellor with a floral bouquet.
Speaking on the occasion, Professor Dr Mohammad Siddiqur Rahman Khan stated that the appointment of a skilled, experienced, and honest academic like Professor Shamim – who serves as a Professor of Soil Science at BOU’s School of Agriculture and Rural Development – is a matter of great pride and joy for the BOU family.
He expressed his firm belief that Professor Shamim’s extensive academic and administrative experience would play a pivotal role in enhancing education, research, and good governance at his new institution.
The BOU vice-chancellor further said under the leadership of Professor Shamim, Pabna University of Science and Technology would reach new heights in the fields of education and research. He concluded by wishing him overall success, sound health, and a bright future.
The ceremony was attended by the BOU Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Academic), Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Administration), Acting Registrar T.M. Ahmed Hussain, deans of various schools, teachers, departmental directors, and various officers and employees of the university.
