A Dhaka court has set September 15 for submitting probe reports in four graft cases against 19 people, including Tarique Ahmed Siddique, former security adviser to ousted prime minister Sheikh Hasina, over alleged embezzlement of Tk 812 crore from airport projects.
Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Md Zakir Hossain Galib passed the order on Thursday after the investigation officer failed to submit the reports.
The other accused in the cases include- former senior secretary of Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism Mohibul Haque, former joint secretary Janendranath Sarkar, former chairman of Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) Air Vice Marshal (retd) Muhammad Mafidur Rahman, former chief engineer Abdul Malek, and former superintendent engineer Habibur Rahman.
The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) filed the four cases on January 27, 2025, accusing the suspects of embezzling funds from projects at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, Sylhet Osmani International Airport, and Cox’s Bazar Airport.
