The investigation committee formed by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare to probe the deaths of six newborns at Ad-din Medical College Hospital has submitted its report to the ministry.
The report was handed over to Health and Family Welfare Minister Sardar Md Sakhawat Husain, officials confirmed on Wednesday.
The ministry’s Deputy Chief Information Officer (Director) Mohammad Mahmudul Hasan confirmed the development.
The incident occurred on 27 May at the postnatal ward of Ad-din Medical College Hospital in Moghbazar, Dhaka, when six newborns died, triggering widespread concern and public discussion.
In response, the health ministry formed a probe committee to investigate the circumstances surrounding the deaths.
Following its inquiry, the committee completed its investigation and submitted the findings to the minister.
Officials said the health minister is expected to brief the media on the matter on Thursday afternoon.
