Prime Bank has completed a month-long entrepreneurship development programme in Natore under an Asian Development Bank (ADB)-funded initiative aimed at strengthening Bangladesh’s small business ecosystem.
The training, conducted under the Skills for Industry Competitiveness and Innovation Programme (SICIP), was implemented by the Finance Division with support from the SME and Special Programmes Department of Bangladesh Bank.
A total of 25 aspiring entrepreneurs completed the programme, which focused on developing business management skills, fostering innovation and improving enterprise competitiveness, the bank said in a statement on Saturday.
The closing ceremony was chaired by Md Abdul Halim, senior vice-president and regional head of Prime Bank.
Md Ayub Ali, joint director of Bangladesh Bank’s SME and Special Programmes Department and deputy programme director of SICIP, attended as chief guest. He underscored the role of entrepreneurship in driving economic growth and said collaborative initiatives such as SICIP help build a more competitive and innovative business environment.
Shaikh Nur Alam, head of SME Business and Refinance at Prime Bank, said the lender would continue supporting entrepreneurs through dedicated financing, refinancing facilities and tailored banking services for small businesses.
The programme forms part of Prime Bank’s efforts to strengthen entrepreneurial capacity and support inclusive economic growth through skills development and access to finance.
