Prime Bank PLC organised “Empowering Youth: Engaging and Inspiring Youth in Banking Season 2.0” at the University of Chittagong on 6 July 2026 in collaboration with the university and the Young Economists’ Society (YES), according to a press release said. The programme, held under the bank’s PrimeAcademia initiative, focused on financial literacy, career readiness and leadership development for students.
The event took place in Chittagong, where banking professionals, academics and student representatives gathered to discuss youth empowerment, employability and skills development through interactive sessions and workshops.
M M Mahbub Hasan, Senior Vice President and Head of Financial Inclusion and School Banking at Prime Bank, delivered the keynote speech, highlighting the importance of financial literacy, responsible money management and early financial awareness in shaping future leaders. He also outlined initiatives in youth banking, school banking, inclusive banking and digital financial services.
A CV writing workshop was conducted by Siraj Uddin Chowdhury Rubel, CEO and Founder of HR Perception, offering students practical guidance on preparing professional CVs aligned with corporate expectations. Sarker Mehadhi Reza, Senior Vice President and Regional Head of Chattogram Region, Consumer Banking at Prime Bank, also led an insightful session.
Senior officials from the University of Chittagong attended the programme, including Professor Dr Mohammad Shamim Uddin Khan, Pro Vice Chancellor (Academic); Professor Dr Mohammed Saiful Islam, Registrar; and Professor Dr Md Enayet Ullah Patwary, Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences. They shared perspectives on youth empowerment, leadership and employability.
YES President Rahnuma Rahman Nikita and General Secretary Shah Musa Al Kazim expressed gratitude and delivered the vote of thanks at the closing session.
The programme included interactive discussions, Q&A sessions, networking opportunities and a crest exchange ceremony aimed at supporting students’ professional and personal development.
