The recruitment examination for assistant teachers at government primary schools will be held from 3pm to 4pm on Friday across all 61 districts of the country except the Chittagong Hill Tracts, said the Directorate of Primary Education.

Against 14,385 vacant posts, 10 lakh 80 thousand and 80 candidates are participating in this examination. on average, nearly 75 job seekers will compete for each vacant post.

Meanwhile, the district administrations has taken extensive preparations to conduct the exam smoothly and prevent question paper leaks. Section 144 has been imposed in some areas.

To prevent fraud in Faridpur, the assignment of teachers to specific rooms will not be predetermined. Just half an hour before the exam begins, room allocation for invigilators will be done via lottery in the presence of the district magistrate.

Gaibandha district administration has imposed Section 144. An order to this effect was issued on Thursday night, signed by District Magistrate Mohammad Masudur Rahman Mollah.

Lutfhun Nahar, additional district magistrate (Education & ICT) of Mymensingh, stated that one magistrate and an adequate number of police personnel will be deployed at each center. In Kurigram, officials from the Directorate of Primary Education will supervise the centers. Special security arrangements have been made in Rangpur.

Directorate of Primary Education Director General Abu Noor Md Shamsuzzaman told the media, “Conducting the recruitment exam for nearly 11 lakh candidates smoothly is indeed a major challenge. We are being extremely vigilant this time.

“Specific responsibilities have already been assigned to the 61 district commissioners. The question papers are securely stored under tight guard in the treasury of each district. To prevent fraud, monitoring has been increased both at the district administration level and centrally.”

On Thursday afternoon, a joint forces team has detained Mahbub, a former driver of Ali Riaz – special assistant to the chief adviser, on allegations of attempting to leak question papers of the primary teacher recruitment examination.

He was detained from in front of the Public Service Commission (PSC) building in Dhaka.
