BNP Secretary General and Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Minister Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Monday said the presidential election would be held on time in accordance with the Constitution.
He made the remarks while speaking to journalists after inaugurating the Rangpur divisional office of the Bangladesh Rural Development Board in the wholesale fish market area on RK Road, adjacent to the Rangpur Central Bus Terminal.
Fakhrul said the nomination for the presidency would be decided in line with the BNP’s decision.
Earlier, he formally opened the BRDB divisional office by unveiling a plaque at a ceremony as the chief guest.
Rangpur Divisional Commissioner Md Shahidul Islam, Rangpur Development Authority Chairman Md Shamsuzzaman Samu, District Council Administrator Md Saiful Islam, Rangpur City Corporation Administrator Mahfuz Un Nabi Chowdhury Don, senior BRDB officials and BNP leaders and activists attended the event.
