Preparations are underway to take Prime Minister’s Political Adviser Mirza Abbas to Singapore for advanced treatment as he remains hospitalised after falling ill.
BNP Media Cell member Shairul Kabir Khan confirmed the matter.
Mirza Abbas’s Facebook page also confirmed that preparations are underway to take him to Singapore for advanced treatment, possibly as early as Friday.
According to party sources, if everything goes well, he will be flown abroad by air ambulance.
Mirza Abbas, a BNP Standing Committee member, fell ill after iftar on Wednesday. His physical condition deteriorated later at night. Doctors then admitted him to Evercare Hospital in the capital.
Several senior BNP leaders visited the hospital on Thursday night to see him. Among them were BNP Secretary General and Local Government Minister Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, Standing Committee member Abdul Moyeen Khan, and Social Welfare Minister Professor AZM Zahid Hossain.
