Police arrested a suspected drug dealer with 800 Yaba tablets during a special operation in Tarartek area of the capital’s Turag on Friday.
The arrestee has been identified as Md Hridoy, 31.
According to the press release, acting on a tip-off, a team conducted the raid in Tarartek area around 6:50pm on Friday.
Police arrested Hridoy during the drive and recovered 800 Yaba tablets from his possession.
Police said Hridoy has long been involved in the illegal trade of Yaba and other narcotics across various locations in the capital, including Turag area.
He faces multiple drug-related cases at Turag Police Station and various other stations under the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP).
A case has been filed against the accused under the Narcotics Control Act at Turag Police Station. He has since been sent to court.
