Prime Minister Tarique Rahman on Saturday paid tributes at the graves of his parents following his first official overseas trip to Malaysia and China.
Around 12:15pm, he went to the Mausoleum Complex inside Sher‑e‑Bangla Nagar’s Zia Udyan and offered Fateha at the graves of his father, former president Ziaur Rahman, and his mother, former prime minister Khaleda Zia.
Standing beside the graves, the prime minister recited Surah Al‑Fatiha and offered munajat, seeking eternal peace for their souls.
Tarique returned home Friday night after wrapping up his maiden foreign visit since assuming office, during which he held bilateral meetings and attended official engagements in Malaysia and China.
