Prime Minister Tarique Rahman is scheduled to visit his home district Bogura on 20 April, marking his first trip to the district since assuming office following the 13th National Parliamentary Election.
The visit was confirmed at a press conference held at the Bogura Circuit House, where State Minister for Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Mir Shahe Alam and Prime Minister’s Additional Press Secretary Atikur Rahman Rumon briefed journalists.
They said the prime minister will travel to Bogura from Dhaka by road, reaching the district at around 10:30am.
After the briefing, they inspected the proposed public meeting venue and other related locations. Local Member of Parliament Morshed Milton, senior BNP leaders, and district administration officials were present.
Mir Shahe Alam said all arrangements have been completed to ensure a safe and smooth visit.
In preparation for the trip, Additional Press Secretary Atikur Rahman Rumon and senior officials of the Special Security Force (SSF) held a coordination meeting with district administration officials, police authorities, and senior BNP leaders at the Circuit House.
According to the itinerary, upon arrival in Bogura, the prime minister will visit the District Judge’s Court to launch an online bail bond distribution system and inaugurate the newly constructed Bar Association building. He will later inaugurate Bogura Municipality as a city corporation.
The prime minister is also scheduled to visit his ancestral home at Bagbari in Gabtali, where he will distribute family cards, inspect a rural hospital, and inaugurate a canal excavation programme.
As the final event of the day, he will address a public rally organised by the BNP at Altafunnesa Playground in Bogura city at 3pm.
