Prime Minister Tarique Rahman will inaugurate a programme to provide monthly honorariums to religious leaders of different faiths on Saturday.
The inauguration ceremony will take place at 10am at the Osmani Memorial Auditorium in the capital, according to an official release from the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.
Under the initiative, the government will provide monthly honorariums to religious leaders serving in places of worship across the country.
The beneficiaries include imams, muezzins and khadems of mosques, priests and sebaits of temples, principals and vice-principals of Buddhist monasteries, and priests and assistant priests of churches.
Tarique Rahman will formally launch the programme during the ceremony.
