Prime Minister Tarique Rahman on Wednesday spoke to Mitu, a fighter injured during the July Mass Uprising, during the inauguration of the July mass movement Memorial Museum in the capital.
Sitting beside his daughter Barrister Zaima Rahman, the prime minister enquired about Mitu’s health and the progress of her treatment.
Mitu, who sustained serious injuries during the July 2024 Mass Uprising and is still undergoing treatment, came directly from hospital to attend the inauguration programme at Sher-e-Bangla Nagar.
During the event, Tarique called Mitu over, spoke with her warmly, asked about her medical treatment and expressed his respect for her courage and sacrifice during the uprising.
Earlier, the prime minister formally inaugurated the July Mass Uprising Memorial Museum before joining a discussion titled “July 36”.
Despite continuing treatment for injuries sustained during the July movement, Mitu attended the programme as one of the invited guests.
The interaction between the prime minister and the injured July fighter created an emotional moment for those present at the event.
