Chorki has acquired exclusive streaming rights for ‘Deshlai’, the latest film from acclaimed Indian filmmaker Q, following its world premiere as the closing night feature at Tasveer Film Festival 2025, reports Variety.
The film tells the story of Zewel, a young TikTok creator from Bangladesh whose life is upended when his older brother is arrested for drug trafficking, forcing him to flee to India and confront new challenges across the border.
Produced under Q’s Oddjoint banner with Luminary Pictures as co-producer, ‘Deshlai’ also secured a distribution deal with Platoon One Films. The film is set for a waterfall theatrical release across Bangladesh, India, the US and the UK starting February 2026, before debuting on Chorki in Bangladesh.
Chorki CEO Redoan Rony said, “Chorki aims to be the hub for Bengali content, and acquiring ‘Deshlai’ aligns with our mission to expand across borders and bring bold, unconventional storytelling to audiences.”
Platoon One Films founder Shiladitya Bora added, “‘Deshlai’ is a fearless, conversation-starting film, and we’re thrilled to help bring it to audiences globally.”
