A bullfighter dubbed the world’s worst matador has been brutally gored just 18 months after he was last impaled. The furious beast charged Peruvian matador Andres Roca Rey before it drives its left horn into his upper right thigh, according to reports of the US Sun.

On April 23, 2026, Andres was severely gored during the Feria de Abril (Spring Fair) in Seville, Spain. The incident occurred at the Plaza de Toros de la Maestranza, where a 526 kg bull named “Jaro” gored him deep in the right thigh and tossed him into the air multiple times.

The Peruvian bullfighter was tossed into the air as the horn twisted inside the wound. Roca Rey crashed to the floor as his leg became covered in blood.

Just before the bull could launch a second attack, bystanders rushed to save the bullfighter. As one man tended to Roca Rey another used a muleta to distract the raging animal.

Muleta is a coloured cape attached to a stick that is used by matadors to lead the bull through a series of passes thus distracting it.

It is used in the third round of bullfights where a bullfighter tries to assert dominance over the beast before trying to kill it to win the game.

After receiving the much-needed help, a bruised-up Roca Rey was seen rising from the ground before he was rushed to the hospital for emergency treatment.

The bulls horn had torn a 35cm-wide gash to his leg, according to a medical report seen by El Pais.
According to surgeon Mulet, the bullfighter was “very lucky”.

The goring had “grazed the vein and artery over a distance of between 10 and 15 centimeters”. But for Roca Rey, who has now been dubbed “world’s worst matador”, the horrific accident was not the first time he was gored by a rampaging bull.

His latest hospital visit comes just 18 months after a 3,000lb bull gored him in the gluteus. Shocking footage from the incident last year showed the animal tossing him in the air like a rag doll after impaling his back side.

A year earlier footage showed the matador being crushing against the barriers by a 1,000lb beast. Roca Rey was left with injuries to his neck, face, right thigh and left knee – the worst of his eight-year career.

And in 2017, a bull’s horn left a four-inch hole in his left inner thigh. He was also famously gored five times in his first five fights and has become a viral video sensation – but amazingly refuses to give up the controversial sport.

Roca Rey’s catalogue of injuries includes being battered unconscious and suffering amnesia. He has also been gored in the buttock and groin, had two teeth knocked out when a bull stabbed him in the mouth, and shattered a cheekbone.

Bullfighting critic Antonio Lorca previously told The Telegraph: “He is like the Messi or Ronaldo of the bullfighting world.
